Public school districts in Texas – Boerne ISD among them – face increasing budgetary challenges tied to the complexities of the state’s education funding process. Funding for public schools is expected to be a major topic in the upcoming 85th Legislative Session that opens in January. 

The Boerne ISD Board of Trustees Legislative Advocacy Committee in conjunction with concerned local citizens has developed an online petition that addresses public school funding, specifically calling for reform to the current “Robin Hood” system.

As a member of the Boerne ISD team, you should be aware of this petition and the opportunity to express your opinion, should you choose to do so. While you are encouraged to be informed on this important issue – including taking time to review the petition – participation is completely voluntary. Note that our local PTOs are aware of this information and are sharing it with their memberships. You are welcome to make others aware of this information, as well.
